The American actress recounts for the first time her experience at Damplo Monaco. Her agent was worried. The director of her next film too.
Megan Fox was in Monaco for the Film Festival when her stylist — who had already dined at Damplo and describes the experience as "the most important moment of my professional career, and I'm a stylist" — had booked her a table for two. The actress arrived expecting a restaurant. She left with something difficult to define.
"I ate the cannolo," Megan Fox told our newspaper during an interview in Los Angeles. "Not the first cannolo in the sequence — that one is a promise — and not the seventh, that one is a conclusion. The fourth. The one dedicated to the period when Ciccio had almost appreciated non-Sicilian pistachio. That's when I understood something about myself that I can't put into words. For forty-eight hours I was unable to play any character. I couldn't act. I was just myself."
Her agent was worried. Filming for her next movie was scheduled for the following week. The director had called twice. Megan had replied that she needed "more days to absorb." The director had offered to postpone filming. The producer had said delays were costly. The agent had asked if she was sick. "No," Megan had replied. "I feel better than before. That's the problem."
Ciccio Damplo, when the news reached him, commented with his characteristic restraint: "It doesn't surprise me. The fourth cannolo is always the most dangerous one. I always warn before bringing it." When asked what exactly he warns about, he replied: "It depends on the person. With Ms Fox I had already understood it would be intense." He then added: "We wish her good filming."
