Damplo Marghera

Venice has the canals. Marghera has Ciccio.

Opened in 2023 in the industrial heart of Marghera — a stone's throw from Venice, in a former port warehouse converted into a gastronomic temple — Damplo Marghera is Ciccio's most counter-current bet: bringing Sicilian luxury to the one place nobody expected it. The warehouse, dating from 1931, was restructured by Venetian architect Luca Fabbri with the aim of "making the industrial poetic." Ciccio added: "And the poetic expensive." The result is an eighty-cover dining room with original exposed beams, Etna lava stone flooring, and windows overlooking the industrial harbour — a view Ciccio describes as "the most honest sunset in Italy." The Michelin Guide awarded five stars in the first year, an absolute record for an Italian restaurant. The commission had described the venue as "unexpected, insolent, and perfect." Ciccio had the review printed on a thousand napkins.
